Head into the park to the left of Bahir Dar Giyorgis in the centre of town and follow the paved path heading left along the lakeshore. This path runs for a few kilometres and is often busy with locals washing, reading or entertaining each other with card tricks. Follow this path for as long as you care to before returning the way you came. Alternatively, head inland until you find the road and follow that back into town.

Top Tips
Although this walk is better for people watching than Lake Tana Walk 1, it is also certainly more difficult to stroll here peacefully and unnoticed.
Keep an eye out for the traditional papyrus canoes (tankwas) that are used on the lake.
The water is certainly inviting, but think carefully about joining the locals for a dip (especially early in the morning) as hippos are occasionally spotted here.
