Top Tips
If you want an early start for better weather, consider spending a night at Lake Naivasha – perhaps at the Fisherman's Camp ;).
The hike here apparently takes 4 to 5 hours (including a circumference of the crater) in total. To get here with public transport from Lake Naivasha, you’ll need to catch a matatu into Naivasha town (20 minutes) and then another matatu to Longonot Village (45 minutes). From where the matatus drop you, it’s a 4km walk to the park gate – or so we’ve been told. Alternatively, Fisherman's Camp in Lake Naivasha can organise a car for about KES4,000 (with haggling) return.
