The Directions

From the , head down KN3 and KN4 to the central roundabout, at which point you need to head straight across to KN1. Follow KN1 down the road for 10 minutes or so until you reach a major intersection. At the junction, take a right onto KN8 and follow this road down again, over the bridge and back up until you come to KG14 on your left. Take this turning and follow KG14 up and around to the left. Follow KG14 for about 10 minutes until you come to the . Of course, if you have no interest in visiting this memorial, you could avoid the KG14 detour all together and continue along and up KN8.

After 20 to 30 minutes along KN8 you should come to a roundabout. Here you’ll want to take a left onto KG7. Follow this road for another 15 to 20 minutes until you find KG548 on your left. Take a turning here and follow this road down. You should see a sign for Golf Eden Guesthouse at the intersection with KG571 but you want to stay on KG548 (where the sign is pointing) until you’ve walked beyond the golf course on your right. At the top of the golf course and KG548, take a right onto KG13 and then another quick right onto KG535, which is a dirt track. From here, you should easily be able to see . There are a series of small mud paths exploring this area and it’s one of the best spots in for some bird watching. When you’re done exploring, you might want to walk back the way you came or catch a moto/taxi voiture home.

Top Tips

is quite a pleasant city to walk around – though it is rather devoid of attractions. This walk takes in three freebies and covers quite a bit of ground, making it a good starting point for exploration.
Although the hills in are none too large, they are frequent and walking up and down in the heat can become quite tiring. Bring snacks and sun protection with you.
There aren’t too many places to stop for lunch/dinner along this route. Your best bet would be to eat before setting off from the or wait until just before the lake on KG548.
