There are a small selection of duty free shops here and one passable (but basic) restaurant. Expect to be searched coming into the terminal as well as when going through security.
If you have an early-morning flight, you probably don’t need to arrive here too early as it’s not a particularly busy airport. The duty free shops would appear to open around 5am, if you’re looking to buy some alcohol, tobacco or souvenirs.
Expect to have your water confiscated when going through security. A 1.5-litre bottle at Flamingo Cafeteria will then set you back TZS24,000.
