Nungwi might just be the Zanzibar you’ve heard about. Soft and powdery white sand, lusciously blue water, a fairly decent party and sunbathing scene, enough half-decent restaurants to keep you busy, and a large enough stretch of beach to never feel overly crowded. You’ll pay for the experience, but this is one place on the island that may definitely be worth the money. Just don’t forget that this tourist-haven has been built around a poor and traditional Zanzibari village. – Daniel

Top Tips
There are three pretty distinct (and beautiful) beaches to explore here (Nungwi Beach 1 , Nungwi Beach 2 and Nungwi Beach 3 ), an uneven smattering of high-end and midrange accommodation, and some good restaurants around the TZS15,000 mark.
Taxis are overpriced here and boda-bodas thin on the ground. You may find yourself walking along the beach back home in the dark if you’re not careful, so prepare as best you can.
