Top Descriptions

Though basic, this campsite is great value for the price of the tour. The wooded huts are comfortable and the hot water in the shabby en-suites really works! The staff are friendly and the grounds quiet. Wake up to the sight of Kilimanjaro and fall asleep under stunningly starry skies (weather permitting).

Top Tips

Keep an eye out for views of Kilimanjaro from the dining area (and just about from the rooms), do let the showers run as they will get surprisingly hot, and allay yourself of any fears of animal encounters – there is an electric fence surrounding the camp.
There is 24-hour power here, so if there’s no juice in your room then just ask a member of staff to switch it on for you ;).
There is a degree of flexibility with regards to meal times, so do speak to the chef – he seems very accommodating.

Top Descriptions

This is the highest point in the and a great place to view the going-ons of the park. There are a few stalls to sit on, each lunch, and observe the action around you. There are also a some steps to climb to reach the top, but managable for almost everyone. – Sarah

Top Tips

This would make for a good lunch spot if you’re on the – especially if Kilimanjaro is on display.
There’s a flock of flamingos in the lake below the hill that are difficult to see from the safari trails. Your best bet would be to climb the viewpoint for a better look.
Be prepared to have to get out of your vehicle and hike up to the viewpoint. It’s barely 100 steps, but on a hot day it might prove difficult for some.

Top Descriptions

What this game drive lacks in animal variety it makes up for with its density of elephants. There are very few things in this world that are as wonderfully moving as witnessing the herds of elephants that inhabit Amboseli. Sat in the safari vehicle one feels small and unimportant yet overwhelmingly honoured. – Sarah

Top Tips

Expect to encounter large herds of elephant at Amboseli National Park. These animals can often be found bathing in the swamps around Lake Amboseli, but your best bet at photographing them with Kilimanjaro as a backdrop is much closer to .
The hyena seem to like the drainage tunnels beneath the trails, so do keep an eye out for them there.
Consider stopping at the along your route, especially for a picnic lunch.
