This is a scenic and off-the-beaten-track drive, so don’t consider coming here unprepared or without a 4×4. You’ll cross over and up and down the craters, which on a clear day offer excellent views of Queen Elizabeth National Park. With a bit of luck, you’ll pass by families of baboons, mongoose and guinea fowl, and end up at the Queen’s Pavilion.

Definitely bring a 4×4 for this trip as there are some steep sections climbing up to the viewpoints. Also watch out for tse-tse flies.
The viewpoints marked on the Queen Elizabeth National Park maps are not marked in situ.
The deviation to the baboon cliffs (regardless of whether baboons are actually there) is worth it for the view over the craters. It is probably the best view of the drive.
