Top Descriptions

This is a fairly smooth minibus service. You’ll get from to in fairly good timing, but there’s not much to keep you too occupied in between (except for the green and lush Laos scenery). The bus isn’t particularly spacious or well serviced – there’s obviously no toilet onboard, but the staff are efficient enough and if you’re desperate enough to stop we’re sure they’d oblige.

Top Tips

Arrive to the at least 30 minutes early if you want to guarantee yourself a seat with a window (although the air conditioning is quite good on this bus!).
Expect an early lunch stop at around 10.30am. There wasn’t much food on display when we arrived, but you can ask for a noodle soup or fried rice to be prepared.
Expect to be mobbed on arrival to by minivan and tuk-tuk drivers. They all charge LAK10,000 per person for the 5km drive into town.
This is a very windy journey on smooth roads for the most part, so if you suffer from travel sickness you might want to come well prepared.
