Top Tips

This barber shop can get quite hot at times. There are fans, but not great ventilation and no air conditioning, so try to avoid coming on a really nice day if you think you’ll be uncomfortable.
Tom is fairly new here but well recommended. He is careful and competent (especially if you’re going from long to short hair), and a good bloke to chat to.
is only over the road, so you can do your shopping after your new cut.

Top Tips

The slices of cake here are huge! If you’re at all health conscious, you’ll want to share a slice between two at least.
Bar service can be a little slow, especially on busy days such as the Sunday carvery. Try to buy drinks by the round, and order your food at the same time to save you queuing up twice.
If you can’t finish any of your food, the staff will be more than happy to provide you with a take-away box. This might come in especially handy with the supersized desserts.

Top Descriptions

This is a pleasant, centrally located pub (for Kempston) with a sizeable beer garden. Popular during good weather, but otherwise fairly quiet, the King Bill as it’s more commonly known is in a well preserved but classically wonky Tudor building. – Daniel

If you’ve written a description for The King William IV (Kempston) you’d like to share with the community, send it to [email protected] and we’ll post it right here in the directory.

Top Tips

Although the garden is a pleasant spot for beers on a good day, the outside furniture does need a bit of work as some of the benches are old and broken.
The Sunday carvery here comes fairly well recommended, as does the crunchy caramel pie.
Don’t expect top-notch levels of staffing here. Orders can go wrong, and sometimes the staff can be unprofessional, but then this is a rural pub in Kempston after all.
Consider taking a walk down the to walk off your meal.
