This is one of the few (perhaps only?) museums that pay homage to one of the world’s most famous leaders, Joseph Stalin. The exhibits are a predominately photographic display showing Stalin’s life from his younger years until his death. A few other pieces are also included that reportedly either belonged to the man or were gifted to him, such as furniture, his sword, carpets and chinaware. Perhaps the most notable item is one of his death masks, which is eerily lit up as the centre piece of the final room and surrounded by red drapes.

The building that houses the exhibits is quite grand, and is perhaps worth a visit if you are in Gori – even if you have no interest in Stalin.
There are English speaking staff on hand should you have any questions or wish to request a guide (the exhbits often lack translations).
The souvenir shop has a wide collection of Stalin trinkets that you are unlikely to find outside of this region.
If you are looking for somewhere comfortable to grab a bite or drink, nearby L'avenue Restaurant is a more than reasonable option (with some western dishes too).
