Situated at an altitude of 1,900m, Lake Seven is the largest lake in Armenia and also one of the largest high-altitude lakes in the world. Picturesque but not particularly well facilitated, settlements are sparse around both sides of the lake, but your best bet would be to head to the town of Sevan on the north-western shore if you’re looking to explore. From here you can easily arrange visits to some of the interesting sights that are scattered about the lake.

It’s quite possible to swim in the lake during the warmer months, although certain sections of this lake can become reportedly very noisy with domestic tourists visiting (and partying) from Yerevan.
If you’re looking for somewhere to have lunch by the lake, your best bet would be to try the restaurants around Sevanavank Monastery such as Sevanavank Restaurant. Though delicious, these restaurants can be somewhat overpriced. Definitely try the BBQ fish while you’re there, though.
