Sadakhlo is a border town about 75km south of Tbilisi on the road to Armenia. With fewer than 10,000 inhabitants, 97% of whom are apparently Azerbaijani, and almost nothing to attract tourists, the only real reason to come here is to pass through the Sadakhlo to Bagratashen (Georgia to Armenia) Border Crossing.

Top Tips
There is a quick, simple and straightforward crossing here to Bagratashen in Armenia. Many nationalities simply need to exit their vehicle, walk to the immigration officers’ desks and present their passports to be allowed a 180-day visa-free stay in Armenia.
Queues here are short, stamps are given quickly and freely, and the complex itself is fairly modern and well facilitated with toilets and duty free shopping.
There is a Money Changer on the Armenian side that offers very good rates, and there’s a 24-hour Duty Free Shop on the Georgian side too.
It is not recommended to take photos of the borders, and this is strictly enforced. Georgian border officials tend to be a little friendlier than their Armenian counterparts.
