People have reported erratic opening hours, perhaps ask your hotel or a local if you are unsure.
Though the café and shop were no longer open at the time of writing, there are toilets should you need them.
If you do not want to pay the camera fee, you may get away with a few sneaky shots providing you don’t use a flash. Then again, there are guards in corners to ensure you follow the rules.

Top Tips

As this is a free museum in Colombia, you might think that little effort had gone into its displays, but that’s simply not the case. Expect a fairly well organised collection of gold artefacts here with signs in both English and Spanish.
is very hot and the air conditioning here is fantastic. If you’re in the area, stop by to cool off if nothing else.
This is a museum of gold, so you can expect some of the items to be in a vault with tight security.

There’s an interesting array of statuary around the main temple (and a bee’s nest that you might want to watch out for). Inside the building itself, it is unfortunately not allowed to take photos or record video of the impressive murals.
Consider visiting at the same time as it’s just over the road. The and aren’t too far away either.

Top Tips

This isn’t a large museum, but it does house a few interesting pieces of contemporary art and is worth 30 minutes or so if you’re in the Richmond Hill or St George’s Park area.
There are two buildings here, with the King George VI Art Gallery the more dynamic and interesting of the two.
Only one of the buildings has toilet facilities (King George VI Art Gallery).
